I am not really into travelling and all that. Home bunnies put your hands up! :)
But still, I keep in mind that "Maco, you've got to reward yourself sometimes". And going places with your loved ones should definitely be at the top of the list. So last March, Mac and I celebrated our 5th anniversary which is also his 25th birthday and the highlight? BAGUIO! Yey!
It was both not our first time to go there but our first time to visit the city together. Join me as I reminisce our stay. ^_^
Going there
We came from Pampanga, spent 370.00 each for the bus ride and the travel time took 6 hours (3:00 am to 9:00 am). As soon as we arrived, we looked for Victory Liner Terminal to reserve our tickets going back. We had to walk because we were dropped off somewhere along the south part of SM. Thank God for Google maps and the nice locals. It was a long 20 minute walk (well for me) so if you also get tired easily as I do (lazy AF. hehe.) , you can just ride a taxi.We reserved a bus ride going to Olanggapo cause that route will drop us back to Sta. Rita, Pampanga. Take note, if you fail to arrive at the reserved time, you will have to pay for an additional fee.
mga antok pa. hahah! |
malapit lapit na!!! |
We went there during the Holy Week so we decided to book a month prior to our visit. We stayed at Mileshome Baguio for 1200/night and from VL, we rode a taxi going there for P60. The place does not look nice outside but our room was cozy, pretty and has everything you'll need. We were supposed to stay in Gladiola room but we were transferred to a newer room with the same features. Jackpot! :) A room, your own sala, TV, ref, kitchen (had to pay additional 200 pesos for using the gas stove but that's good for the whole stay) and most importantly, cr with hot shower. Kuya Rey was so nice because he let us check in earlier than 12 nn without a fee. Tulog time! We were so hungry when we woke up so we ate our Penne Pasta packed lunch. :D
The only pic we took sa Milehome! :P |
The location of Mileshome is perfect, it's very very near Good Shepherd where you can buy pasalubong, another pasalubong center, jeepney terminal, Minesview and a 7/11 store. As in konting lakad lang. Spell convenience please. :P
Galaaaa time! First Day is Park day!
Minesview
Since this is the closest park, of course, Minesview muna. And because it's Holy Week, dami tao! Haha! And sadly, no fog kasi tanghali na. :( Here, you can take pictures with cute horses and big dogs. And you can also buy plants for your Nanay and Titas.
The Mansion
We set a budget goal of 8k lang or less so I prepared and challenged myself for long walks instead of riding taxis. Healthy na, you'll enjoy the cool temp and the view of beautiful houses along the way pa. It was a 15 to 20 minutes walk from Minesview to The Mansion. Brace yourselves for... WACKY pics! Hahahah! :D
Him: Welcome sa Mansion namin! Me: Aray ko beh! :D |
Outside, there are vendors selling strawberry taho, Sagada oranges, etc. Just across the road, is another park which I forgot the name or not sure if it's part of Wright Park din. Hehe!
Emote na mga bes! |
Syempre, a pic together! <3 |
Hi pogi! ^_^ |
Hahah! Mukhang yan. |
Wright Park
Just follow the trail to the left and you'll find a steep and rocky stairs down to the Wright Park where you'll also find souvenirs, inihaw na kung ano ano, plants again and horse riding circle! Hihi! Honestly, I am not really a fan of anything that involves animals in captivity or close to that. But since I was a kid, I've always wanted to experience how it feels to ride a horse. And Mac made it all possible for me. I asked him to look for a white horse as I feel bad for horses with their hairs colored pink and all deng flowers. You can haggle with horse owners and we got a deal of a 30 minute ride for 200 pesos.
Nanginginig talaga ako neto eh. Hahha! |
Pero matapang talaga ako! Haha! Thank you bebe! :-* |
I was fine with a 10 minute ride, that was just 2 times of going around the horse riding circle and Mac refused to finish the 30 minutes ride. So we headed to the next park nearest. Going there, you'll pass by Ketchup Food Community. Heard food is great there!
Botanical Garden
I did not expect this park to be very big and even have replicas of international tourist spots. You can rent an Igorot costume for 20 pesos each.
Good boy ah? hihi! |
Pogi ng view. :) |
Golden Bridge, Pak!
It was a tiring day. This birthday boy deserves a sweet kiss. :) |
The darkness started to crawl into our stomachs so we ate kikiam sa may tindahan. Haha! Take note pala, you'll have to pay 10 pesos for using the CRs around the city so make sure to bring extra coins with you when you go around.
After Botanical, we rode a jeep going to the market to buy ingredients for our dinner. It was one of our favorite part the day. One of the few days we don't feel sad about parting ways going home because that night, we are going home together. #ldrfeels. Enough of the drama! He cooked pork steak for us! Hihi!
Day 2
The next day, we woke up as early as we can so we can experience the fog in Baguio and lucky for us because we stayed in Mileshome. We went out, walked for just 2 minutes and it was a success! :)
Beggang Restaurant
We got confused where this resto is but with the help of Google Map, we found it. The place has good ambiance, you'll forget that you are in the middle of the busiest part of Baguio. I love how the tables are set and they even have candles set for each tables. Cute!
We ordered Binagoongang Bagnet and Vegetarian sisig. And guys, SOBRANG SARAP nung vegetarian sisig! Their Bagnet does not taste authentic though. Pero masarap talaga tong sisig, promise! Surprisingly a must try! The servings are good for 2 to 3 persons so we took our leftovers and ate them for dinner. :P #tipid
Burnham Park
We also tried riding swan boats. The more baduy, the more romatic the getaway is!
We went to SM Baguio to buy tickets for Batman Vs. Superman. The mall with no aircon pero malamig pa rin. Hehe. We went down to Session for merienda and there goes... Vizco's!
Totooo ang reviews bes, masarap talaga! |
He said their cheesecake is really good too! |
We went back to SM and watched the movie, then back to the transient, took some rest and went back to Pampanga. :)
Hope this blog helps you plan your Baguio trip with your partner. <3
Tips:
Going from Burnham to SM Baguio, it's a lot easier for you to cross the footbridge to Session road then up to SM Baguio.
Use google maps.
Book a hotel ahead of time.
Walkathon saves you a lot of money!
Snowball from Good Shepherd is delicious. Perfect pasalubong for kids and kids at heart!
Going around the city, it's best for you to ride jeepneys pa rin than taxi. Though mura lang talaga ang taxi fare nila compared sa Manila, magastos pa rin if you keep on riding taxis. :)
When passing the road where bikes are circling around, be cautious. I fell down in the middle of the road dahil nasagasaan ako ng bata! Hahah! Mukhang walang brakes pati mga bike nila for hire.
